May Cycling Training Update
Here’s my status report through the end of May:
- 2,414 miles on the bike since I started on December 11 – 225 miles ahead of schedule!
- Rode 20-50 miles per ride, four times a week most of the month since I had a century on June 4. Big rides included 68 miles on May 8 and 101 miles on May 17.
- Working out with heart rate in the 140-150 bpm range.
- Resting heart rate was 52 beats per minute last time I checked.
- Weight is 201 pounds (down slightly). I wanted to get to 195 by my first century in June, but didn't make it.
- General health is good. I do have a right shoulder/back pain and some knee pain. I'm treating both with some rest, ice, and medication.

Easy Rider-
Wow - very impressed with the miles!!
Here is my update:
606 miles in since April 9, 2005
Upgraded my bike to a Giant Cypress SX - a great road bike - I never would have made it with the old cement mixer!!
I really have not lost anyweight but i have lost about 5 inches of fat due to all of this activity and of course i am building my muscle up!! need to keep up with you and ghost - yeah right!!!
As for health issues i have not found any - just the normal ache when you ride for a long period of time.
See you on the road!!
